There is much mis-selling of Broadband which state it includes line rental when it does not. Where cheaper deals are available for broadband and calls please be aware that these usually involve your fixed line being cut off and all calls will go over your Broadband line. Many people do not realise this until the find they have no phone if their Broadband fails. Please check this before you make your decision or comparisons.
Although we do offer this service in our Onebill Value, where calls are made using the broadband without the use of a fixed line, we always make customers aware of how this package works.

Limitations on Availability and Quality
Please note that our broadband services are not compatible with €Ligne Residence Secondaire€ line rental services.
The availability of broadband is directly linked to the length of the line between the local France Telecom exchange and your property. If the line is longer than 5km it is likely that no provider will be able to give you a reliable broadband service
Depending on the equipment installed at your local exchange the service may be limited to 2MB even if the line itself can support 20MB. The standard tests that can be made will not always give true information in these cases
UKtelecom always applies the fastest speed that can be carried and we do not charge any extra for this.
VOIP - Calls over the Internet
Please be aware a broadband speed of 2MB or more is advised to use Voice Over Internet Protocol telephone calls. Any speed lower than this is less reliable and can result in the poor quality or loss of the call service. Whilst the broadband service can operate satisfactorily at speeds as low as 0.5MB, if your internet connection speed is less than 2MB we do not advise our customers to take this option.
